The artiste management contract between Stonebwoy and Zylofon Music will expire in May this year, BEATWAVES has discovered.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Zylofon Music, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, who confirmed this to BEATWAVES yesterday, did not state whether the contract with Stonebwoy will be renewed or not.
But reports from the camp of Stonebwoy revealed that he is likely to leave the record label for good because of the problems the dancehall artiste has had with Zylofon Music.
According to the reports, Stonebwoy has no plan of reviewing his contract though the management of Zylofon Music is considering having a meeting with him to discuss whether he will renew the contract or not.
Fans of the dancehall artiste who are happy about his exit from Zylofon have sent in warning signal to Stonebwoy that they would use all available means to resist his attempt to renew the contract with Zylofon.
In 2017, Stonebwoy signed a management contract with the Zylofon Music, owned by Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM 1. The details of the contract, however, were not made public or the media.
The four-year contract with Zylofon Music had to be reviewed to a year after signing on his contender, Shatta Wale, by same record label, which he was not pleased with.
In October last year, Stonebwoy told Lexis Bill, host of Joy FM’s Drive Time, that he will not extend his contract with Zylofon when it expires because his business relationship with the record label has not gotten any better.
“I will like to exit,” he told Lexis Bill in an interview.
He stressed that even though Zylofon has good plans for the entertainment industry, some elements in the company have shown dislike for him, hence his decision to quit.
