Accra Mall based YFM has announced that preparations are ongoing to host this year’s edition of its annual event dubbed ‘Y Rated Awards’ on November 27, 2020 at the 4Syte Mansion in Accra.
The awards scheme was introduced to acknowledge Ghanaian artistes who have greatly contributed to Ghana’s music industry with their hits and jams.
This year’s edition, according to the organisers, promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s edition.
The anticipated event is expected to attract music stakeholders, sponsors of the event as well as some of last year’s award winners.
Categories for this year’s awards ceremony are Best Rated Song of the Year, Best Rated Take of the Year, Next Rated Artiste of the Year (which goes to new artistes of the Year), Best Rated Reggae-Dancehall Song and Best Rated Highlife Song.
Others are Best Rated Afro-Pop Song of the Year, Best Rated Rap Song of the Year, Best Rated Group of the Year and Best Rated Collaboration of the Year.
The rest are Best Rated African Song of the Year, Best Rated Gospel Song of the Year and the new introduction, Best Rated Video of the Year.
Programmes Manager of YFM, Eddy Blay, speaking on the awards scheme revealed that this year’s ceremony is being organised in collaboration with 4Syte TV.
According to him, nomination process is still ongoing and voting starts today.
