Papa Bills displaying his award
Popular radio disc jockey (DJ) and producer, Papa Bills, who took home record DJ of the year award at this year’s edition of the Ghana DJ Awards, held two weeks ago, has dedicated his award to his listeners and fans who have supported him in his chosen career.
He expressed his appreciation to God and all his fans in Ghana and beyond for their immense contribution towards the growth of his career.
According to him, his listeners and fans deserve to have the award in their names because they have contributed immensely towards the progress of his career, adding that he was happy that he was nominated for two categories and took home one award.
Papa Bills, who is the producer of Adom FM’s mid morning show Work and Happiness and the host of Efiada Mbosuo also on Adom FM, told BEATWAVES in an interview that he won the award through hard work.
He beat the likes of DJ Wobete, NYDJ, DJ Adviser, DJ Aroma, DJ Magnus and DJ Reuben to grab the award.
“This award would not have been possible without my listeners and fans. They have been very supportive throughout this journey. I thank them for their loyalty and support all these years. I pray you continue to support me to push my career higher to the glory of God,” he told BEATWAVES.
He expressed his profound gratitude to God for the immense support, adding, “I am saying a big thanks to God for His blessings upon my life. I am grateful to Him.”
According to him, despite his success and fame, he has also gone through a lot, “It wasn’t easy for me. I have gone through a lot as a radio DJ, presenter and producer.”
He revealed plans of hosting a virtual musical concert to entertain his fans as well as to thank them for their support.
He, however, urged his colleague DJs and presenters to air songs that would shape the youth to become more disciplined on their radio and television programmes.
