Ghanaian-Canadian supermodel Nini Amerlise has been appointed face of Ghana Models Awards (GMAs) 2021, organisers announced on Tuesday.
The GMAs is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the modeling industry.
This year’s edition is scheduled for September 18, at the Accra City Hall.
According to Jerry Wonder Sampson, Executive Director of the GMAs, Nini was chosen based on her selfless and persistent efforts in helping models become better at their profession.
“Every model’s dream is to reach the status of Supermodel. Nini Amerlise has shown Ghanaian models, especially in Ghana, that nothing is impossible. We are so glad to have her as our face for this year and we believe her association with our brand will impact our audience positively and neutralize the negative perception about modelling in Ghana”, he said.
Nini Amerlise expressed her excitement at the announcement.
After winning season 1 of ‘Supermodel Canada’, a TV reality show for models in Canada, Nini has been pushing the boundaries of modelling by featuring in projects in the United States, Co- hosting radio shows in Nigeria, and other parts of the world.
According to her, being the Face of the Ghana Models Awards for 2021 adds to her joy.
“I am super excited to be yout ambassador, representative, and the Face for Ghana Models Awards”, she said.
Nini Amerlise encouraged models in Ghana not to give up when faced with challenges in their career.
“I just want to encourage you that, every challenge in your life serves a purpose to push forward on your journey. So, regardless of what you have faced which may have discouraged you in a particular moment, know that it’s that ingredient that is going to propel you to fulfilling your destiny”, she said.
