The dead man in the commercial car
PASSENGERS ONBOARD Santasi to Pakyi commercial car got stunned when a male passenger suddenly collapsed and died whilst the car was in motion around 10:30pm on August 26, 2023.
The body of the deceased, whose name was not readily known to the paper, and is believed to be around 35 years old, has since been deposited in a morgue for preservation and autopsy.
According to Suntreso District police report, the man boarded the vehicle at Satasi to Pakyi near Kumasi, but he suddenly became unconscious in the vehicle to the shock of other passengers.
The driver of the Pregio vehicle, identified as Frederic Owusu Acheampong, then sped off to the Hope Exchange Hospital to save his life but he was pronounced dead on arrival by health personnel.
“The medical doctor on duty Dr. Konadu Boateng, examined the body and confirmed that he was brought to the hospital as a dead person.
“Information gathered from the driver of the vehicle, Frederic Owusu Acheampong, his mate Emmanuel Katah, and some of the passengers, revealed that the unidentified man boarded the vehicle at Satasi to Pakyi.
“He suddenly became unconscious in the vehicle and was rushed to the Hope Exchange Hospital where he was pronounced dead”, part of the police report indicated.
The body has been deposited at the same hospital morgue for preservation and identification, the report said, adding that investigation was ongoing to identify the relatives of the deceased and the cause of his death.
