Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, has been described as the “perfect leader to lead the country to the Promised Land.”
The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, who made the positive remarks about Dr. Bawumia, particularly urged the people in the Zongo communities to rally behind her hardworking husband to win the 2024 presidential polls.
According to her, Dr. Bawumia has good intentions and plans to accelerate the development of the country, especially the deprived Zongo areas, stressing that she is expecting massive support from the Zongo areas.
She was speaking during this year’s edition of the Zongo Queenmothers and Women Clerics Ramadan Conference, which was held at the Central Mosque in Kumasi, Ashanti Region on Saturday.
Themed “Advocating the contribution of Zongo Queenmothers and Female Clerics to National Development”, the event was massively attended by Imams, opinion leaders in the Zongos and other dignitaries.
Samira Bawumia stated that Dr. Bawumia has done a lot to help transform the Zongo communities as Vice President, promising that the NPP flagbearer is poised to do more for the country as president.
She indicated that Dr. Bawumia stands tall among those seeking to be president of the country, therefore the electorates should give him their mandate.
“Dr. Bawumia is the only person in the country seeking to be president who will continue the good works of the current NPP government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” she emphasised.
The Second Lady also applauded Zongo women for their hard work and commitment to the effective development of the country, stressing that she would continue to help the Zongo areas as the First Lady of Ghana.
Alhaji Abdulai Salim Bamba, the Ashanti Regional Nasara Coordinator, on his part, urged the electorate not to vote for former President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, ex-President Mahama once said four-year term was not enough for a leader to implement his vision for a country, stressing that “Mr. Mahama cannot use just four years to transform the country so don’t vote for him.”
