In a bold move, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, has launched a scathing attack on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leader, John Mahama, in the Ashanti Region.
As the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Napo warned voters that supporting the NDC would be a waste of their votes, citing the party’s lack of genuine interest in the region’s development.
Speaking at a rally in Tweapeasi, located in the Odotobiri Constituency, Napo emphasized that the NPP is committed to advancing the Ashanti Region’s growth.
He expressed disappointment with the NDC, noting that despite receiving substantial support from the region in past elections, the party continues to neglect the area when in power.
The Impact on Mahama’s Chances
Napo’s warnings may significantly impact Mahama’s chances in the Ashanti Region, a crucial constituency in the upcoming elections.
With Napo’s strong roots in the region and his influential position as Vice Presidential Candidate, his words are likely to resonate with voters.
Regional Significance
The Ashanti Region is a key battleground in the 2024 elections, with both parties vying for dominance.
The region has historically been an NPP stronghold, but the NDC is seeking to make inroads.
