HUNDREDS OF underprivileged children at the Happy Family Shelter Home in Accra received donated items from members of Springhouse Chapel International to commemorate the church’s Founder’s Day.

As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts through the ‘Let Them Smile Foundation,’ the church extended generous donations and organised a day’s event full of fun and excitement for the children.

Inspired by the scripture Matthew 25:35 — For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” — the church provided a wide range of essential items.

The donation included food supplies such as cartons of soft drinks, water, gallons of cooking oil, biscuits, candies, and bags of rice. Hygiene and household items such as diapers, wipes, detergents, toiletries, and clothing were also given, along with a cash donation to support the centre’s operations.

Beyond the donations, the day turned into a celebration filled with laughter, music, and vibrant energy. A party was held on-site where the children enjoyed face painting, bouncing around on a colourful inflatable castle, and participating in exciting games like musical chairs and dance competitions. The festive atmosphere created an opportunity for the children and church members to bond and share joyful moments over delicious food and drinks.

Lady Rev. Mrs. Agnes Gyan Agyei, First Lady of Springhouse Chapel International, encouraged more individuals and organisations to support underprivileged centres, highlighting the broader impact such acts of kindness can have on communities. “This year, as part of our Founder’s Day activities, Rev. Ohenese Gyan Agyei decided to spread love to those who need it most. Every single act of giving, no matter the size, can transform lives,” she shared.

Grace Armah, a caregiver at the shelter, expressed deep appreciation to the church and its donors for their generosity and compassion. She also used the opportunity to call on other stakeholders to lend a helping hand, stressing the ongoing needs of the centre in maintaining daily operations.
