THE ASHANTI Regional Football Association (ARFA) successfully held its Ordinary Congress last Saturday, September 27, 2025, marking the end of the 2024/25 season and the official start of the 2025/26 campaign.
The gathering which took place at the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School Assembly Hall, brought together key stakeholders of football in the region, including representatives of clubs, district football associations, and other partners, to deliberate on the progress of the game and chart the way forward.
The event was chaired by ARFA Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang, who described the Congress as a vital platform to review the past season and introduce strategic plans for the new one.
He applauded the contributions of all stakeholders and stressed the need for collaboration, accountability, and innovation to push football in the Ashanti Region to greater heights.
He further outlined new initiatives to improve youth development, coaching education, and referee training.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) was represented by Executive Council Member Samuel Aboabire, who stood in for GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Council.
He commended ARFA’s consistent dedication to grassroots football and pledged the GFA’s continued support for development programmes in the region.
The Congress also reaffirmed ARFA’s commitment to aligning with the GFA’s broader vision of transforming domestic football through improved governance, stronger competitions, and deeper stakeholder engagement.
