FDA Chases Vendors At Porials Pitch

THE FOOD and Drugs Authority (FDA) enforcement team on Saturday stormed the Ghud Park amidst the ongoing Porials Pitch third edition, seizing unregistered products to safeguard unsuspecting customers from potential harm.

Many of the vendors who had secured an exhibition stand at a cost of GH¢10,000 were forced to submit their unregistered consumable products to the enforcement team, forcing them to exit the premises.

Following the seizure, many of the patrons called on the FDA to enforce policy that will ensure products are registered before paying for exhibition stands.

Beyond the FDA brouhaha, the Porials Pitch Season 3 was highly successful, characterised as a “phenomenal success” with vibrant energy and a packed crowd at Ghud Park, Accra Mall.

The event drew over 15,000 shoppers. The festival featured 100+ vendors showcasing unique products, including fashion, beauty, technology, and household items. Patrons described as a “massive success” and a “vibrant atmosphere” that showcased Dulcie Boateng’s strength as an influencer and organiser.

The event featured live DJs and served as a major commercial and cultural link-up, consolidating its reputation as a major retail festival in Accra. Stars like Lalid, Gyakie, King Promise and Camidoh made a surprise appearance at the event.
