Reggie Rockstone
Hip Life legend, Reggie Rockstone, has revealed that although he smoked and drank alcohol at a point in his life, he never engaged in hard drugs. He said he is grateful for that decision, given what he describes as an addictive personality.
The 62-year-old musician also disclosed that he has since given up smoking and alcohol as part of significant lifestyle changes influenced by his health and age. According to him, his battle with asthma played a key role in his decision to quit smoking.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s programme A-Z, Reggie admitted that he experimented with smoking and drinking in his younger years but deliberately avoided harder substances. “I have done everything… I never did hard drugs which I thank God because I have a very addictive personality,” he said.
He explained that his asthma condition, coupled with a family history of the illness, made it necessary to stop smoking completely. He noted that both his father and son have asthma, reinforcing his decision to prioritise his health.
Reggie further highlighted changes to his diet and lifestyle, saying he has become more mindful of his eating habits over the years. He disclosed that he stopped eating red meat early and has eliminated alcohol and processed sugar, while maintaining a routine of drinking water, eating fruits, and exercising.
