Police Logistics Get Major Boost

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has received a major logistics boost following the donation of a Chery Himla 4×4 pickup vehicle by the House of Power Ministry.

The vehicle is expected to enhance patrol operations, improve response to security incidents, as well as strengthen the command’s efforts to combat crime and protect lives and property across the region.

Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the Founder and General Overseer of the House of Power Ministry, Prophet Francis Kwateng, the leader of pastors at the church, Rev. Charles Nimako, said the donation was motivated by the belief that security was a shared responsibility.

He said the church deemed it necessary to support the police with the vehicle, to enable personnel to discharge their duties more effectively.

Rev. Nimako expressed the hope that the vehicle would improve the operational capacity of the command, particularly in conducting regular patrols and responding promptly to distress calls and other security incidents.

He said while the police were responsible for protecting lives and property, Prophet Francis Kwateng was committed to the spiritual wellbeing of people in society.

Receiving the vehicle, the Ashanti South Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, expressed appreciation to the House of Power Ministry for the gesture.

He said inadequate logistics remained one of the major challenges confronting the command, stressing that the provision of vehicles and other essential equipment would greatly enhance police operations.

DCOP Nyaaba assured the church and the public that the command would continue to work hard to maintain its high ranking in the Inspector-General of Police’s (IGP) assessment.

He said the command was leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to protect lives and property, adding that it would intensify measures to achieve its “Operation Zero Crime” objective.

He also warned criminals to be on the lookout, stressing that the police would continue to intensify operations to prevent and combat criminal activities in the region.

According to DCOP Nyaaba, adequate logistics would enable personnel to conduct regular patrols and respond more effectively to incidents, particularly in areas requiring increased police presence.

He therefore appealed to institutions, organisations, corporate bodies and individuals to continue supporting the Police Service with vehicles and other operational equipment.

He noted that such support would complement the efforts of the Police Administration as well as strengthen the command’s ability to prevent and combat crime.

The Commander further called for greater collaboration between the police and the public, emphasising that “policing is a shared responsibility.”

Meanwhile, a similar donation has been made to the Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi as part of efforts by stakeholders to strengthen police operations and maintain peace in the region.
