Ghanaian actress, Gladys Gyekye known in the showbiz scene as Adepa has donated food items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to children at the Royal Seed Home at kasoa in the central region.
During the presentation, the actress said it was her surprise gift to the children who need support from people like her, adding that the donation was to help bring comfort to them.
The items donated include clothes; bags of rice, assorted drinks, biscuits among others.
She stressed that the donation was a dream come true, and assured the orphanage of more of such donations in the future.
According to the actress, there was the need to show love, care and support to the less-privileged.
Gladys Gyekye, who is also a model, said children in the various orphanages depend on charitable people as their sources of encouragement.
The actress, who wants to make a difference in the lives of the needy, said the church and the government alone cannot support the needy, helpless and the poor in society, so it behoves individuals to contribute to nation building.
She also used the opportunity to call on the government and other philanthropists to come to their aid.
