Ama K Abebrese got a real thrill out of wearing a ‘floor sweeping’ dress to the 2019 Accra Fashion Week Gala Night on Wednesday.
The ‘Sinking Sands’ actress, who is not known for big costume exhibits, dazzled with the outfit when she showed up on the red carpet.
She was a cynosure of all eyes as she launched what many described as an amazing outfit to meet the ‘Wild Africa’ theme for the night.
The dress was designed by St. Clement Asemnyra, and it projects the Ghanaian culture.
“Well, as a returnee to Ghana from the UK, the ‘Year of Return’ is very significant for me. It’s quintessentially African, from the traditional Akan ‘tekua’ headpiece, to the wax print gown with slightly wild elements and the duafe adinkra earrings. I feel it reflects Diaspora fashion in a unique way and celebrate Ghanaian culture in a modern and edgy way,” she revealed.
Wednesday’s Accra Fashion Week Gala Night was held at the CFAO showroom, Airport, and it attracted all those who matter in the fashion scene.
It was part of a week-long set of fashion activities for the Accra Fashion Week.
