President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
PRESIDENT NANA Akufo-Addo insists the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is a trustworthy person so his campaign promises are genuine and achievable.
According to him, he has worked with Dr. Bawumia for over 16 years and during that long period he has come to realise that the NPP presidential candidate is an honest and trustworthy person, who always means whatever he says.
In this regard, he has, therefore, appealed passionately to the electorates to believe in the campaign promises of Dr. Bawumia since the NPP leader is committed and determined to fulfil his promises to transform the country.
President Akufo-Addo passed those impressive comments about the NPP presidential candidate when he cut the sod for works to start on the dualisation of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben road in the Ashanti Region on Monday.
Continuing, he described the NPP presidential ticket of Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka Napo as the best pair to continue with the works of his (Akufo-Addo’s) administration.
According to him, he has worked with both Dr. Bawumia, and his running mate, Napo, so he can vouch for their competence, commitment and readiness to deliver and take the country to the Promised Land.
“I’m the right person to talk about the qualities of Bawumia and Napo because I have worked with both of them and I know their special qualities. I can boldly say that the NPP presidential ticket is what our country needs now,” he said.
On Napo, President Akufo-Addo said the NPP running mate is very competent and an achiever, recounting how Napo worked assiduously to introduce the famous Free Senior High School (SHS) policy as Education Minister.
He said Napo has also delivered as Energy Minister to ensure a stable power supply in the country so far, reiterating that the Bawumia-Napo ticket is what the country needed right now to ensure total transformation.
President Akufo-Addo also descended heavily on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying that “they could not perform in government that’s why we voted them out. So what do they want from us again?”
Road Projects
Touching on road projects in the Ashanti Region, he said the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben dualisation road project would help prevent congestion and help free movement of vehicles to boost businesses.
President Akufo-Addo said his administration has completed 2,079 kilometres of roads in the Ashanti Region, stressing that “this includes major upgrades and enhancement.”
Giving the breakdown of road projects done in the region, he said “372.86 kilometres of asphalt overlay has been done, 18.5 kilometres construction, upgrading and surfacing is 788.67 kilometres…”
He announced that Susuanso at Anloga and Kokoso communities have both benefited from a bridge project each, adding that “the Suame Interchange, the first four tier interchange in Ashanti Region is progressing steadily.”
