Bolga Gas Stations Join Nationwide Strike

Scene at the Extee Gas Filling Station in Bolgatanga

Almost all Gas Filling Stations visited by the DAILY GUIDE in the Bolgatanga Municipality, had “NO GAS” sign posted in front of their entrance on Monday, May 21.

The gas filling stations visited were not serving clients that came to fill their cylinders and had to go back home with the empty cylinders. Vehicles that came for auto gas had to leave without being served.

Asked whether they did not have gas or were just joining other stations across the country for the demonstration announced by the National Leadership of the Gas Retailers Association, the attendants said they have no mandate to speak about their operations without permission from their Managers.

Unfortunately the Managers were also not ready to speak about their operations without permission from their Company Owners.

Many of the gas filling stations in the Bolgatanga Municipality have on many occasions, been without gas and so many people depended on a few stations, like the EXTEE Gas Filling Station, for auto gas and domestic use.

If the demonstration continues for long, many will be compelled to go back to charcoal.
