One of Ghana’s leading security printers, Buck Press Limited, has landed a contract for the printing of ECOWAS biometric passports for Liberia.
The deal would enable Liberia to transition from the old order to the e-Passport, as the new grade travel documents are referred to worldwide.
A Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs release on the subject pointed out that the deal for the extended Restated biometric passport was signed for the West African country by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marjon V. Kamara, Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Boima Kamara and the Deputy Commissioner General in-charge of Operations/Technical Services at the Liberian Revenue Authority, Dekontee King-Sackie on one hand, and representatives of Buck Press on the other.
Justice Cllr. Frederick D. Cherue also witnessed the signing of the contract.
The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to all who played a role in the eventual signing of the contract which like all negotiations “are tedious, demanding and difficult.”
Observing that the results were positive, she said she looked forward to a good relationship with Buck Press and hoped that the contract would be executed on schedule, saying “we are working against time.”
