Dentaa Amoateng MBE, President of the GUBA Enterprise, has received a certificate of honour for her valuable contribution towards the Covid-19 pandemic response.
The virtual ceremony was held by the International Women’s Club, New Delhi, on May 29, 2020.
The award, which was endorsed by the High Commission of the Republic of Ghana in New Delhi, was part of the First International Congress held by the International Women’s Club; it also comes in recognition of her leadership in fighting against the pandemic,
In acceptance of her award, Mrs Amoateng MBE expressed her gratitude for the honour saying, “It is truly an amazing feeling to receive such an award. It is an even more pleasant surprise to have my efforts noticed in India. Covid-19 requires a global effort and I urge everyone to play a role in putting an end to this pandemic.”
As part of efforts to create a dialogue and opportunity for many, Mrs Amoateng has held series of webinars and live interviews.
This platform has allowed dignitaries, businesses and the general public an opportunity to share their stories during these uncertain times.
A few of those have consisted of interviews with the likes of Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao on Africa and China relations; President of Liberia; the Minister of Communication for Madagascar and Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy on Madagascar’s remedy for Covid-19 and agricultural opportunities in Ghana.
In addition, the GUBA Enterprise has also partnered on two significant projects aimed at providing relief for the affected during this pandemic. The first initiative was a partnership with 95 years old veteran, Pte Hammond, who completed a 14 miles walk to raise funds for frontline workers.
GUBA is currently in partnership with the Women’s Empowerment and Investment Group (WEIG) and Annan Capital Partners (ACP) to offer seed investment to Ghanaian based small and medium businesses owned by women.
