Musician, Praye Tiatia from the renowned Ghanaian music group, Praye, has revealed the reason behind the group’s breakup.
Speaking on D-Black’s Uncut show, Praye Tiatia disclosed that a misunderstanding with Praye Tenten ultimately led to the trio’s split.
“We got a hint about Praye Tenten working on an album with another artiste without our knowledge. When confronted, a misunderstanding ensued, and he decided to part ways,” Tiatia explained.
He added that Praye Ho-ne-ho also disagreed with Tenten’s actions, leading to the complete breakup of the group.
Contrary to rumours, Tiatia clarified that money was not the cause of the split. “It was not about money because if it is GH₵100,000, we know how to share it. You cannot go for a show, get money and you will take more than me, it is the ego (that caused it),” he emphasised.
The trio, known for their back-to-back hits in the early 2000s, including ‘Angelina’, ‘Kakyere Me’, and ‘Otoolege’, has left a lasting legacy in Ghanaian music despite their unfortunate split.
