Teachers who show commitment to their work in the Yendi Constituency in the Northern Region will soon be recognised for their good work when a maiden teachers’ award scheme takes off.

The scheme is by the kind courtesy of the MP for the Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama.

The maiden Teachers’ Award Programme will be organised, spearheaded and supervised by the Education Directorate of the Yendi Municipality, DAILY GUIDE has learnt.

The Education Directorate in this respect has commenced advertisement for teachers to enter their applications if they meet the criteria.

According to the Member of Parliament, the motivation for running the awards scheme is to encourage the teachers to do more and improve the standard of education in the constituency.

He noted that quality education is essential in building the future of Yendi, and teacher motivation, for him, is one of the most profound challenges in the constituency. Teachers work under deplorable conditions and must be appreciated for their hard work and dedication to the profession, and inspire others to aspire to greatness.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama since the advent of his administration, as the representative of the people, has been committed to making enormous contribution to the education of his constituents. His efforts are reflected in infrastructural rehabilitations and developments, educational scholarships and sponsorships, logistical support, absorption of examination fees and many others.

These have earned him the love and support of the people in not only the constituency but others outside it.

Some students pursuing their master’s degree programmes outside the country have not been left out of the support he is rendering members of his constituency and beyond.
