Hives Commissions 12th Borehole Project

To attain Sustainable Development Goal 6 “clean water and sanitation for all” the Hive, a blockchain-based social media platform has commissioned its 12th borehole project in Asamankama in the Offinso Municipality of Ashanti Region on November 30, 2023.

The residents of Asamankama received two borehole donations; one for Asamankama Basic School and the other for the entire township.

In addition to receiving two boreholes from the Hive, the locals also received a free health screening that allowed them to check their blood pressure, eyes, diabetes status, and a host of other conditions.

Asamankama Basic School students were provided with educational resources such as workbooks, writing instruments, and more.

Addressing dignitaries, Hive Project’s coordinator, Samuel Boadi, said the company is bent on upholding the SDG 6 established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.

He entreated the entire community to utilize the water responsibly, and preserve it, saying, “This historic event not only represents the satisfaction of a fundamental need but also the spirit of cooperation and corporate social responsibility”.

The Chief of Asamankama, Nana Osei Bediako II, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Hive for their constant commitment to improving the lives of rural communities.

The Offinso Municipal Director of Education, Madam Gladys Kwakye, represented by Madam Georgina Ajaani expressed thanked the Hive Blockchain for resolving an issue that had been plaguing the school and the community for years.

Present at the commissioning included community leaders, the Offinso Municipal Education Directorate, and the Asamankama community members.
