I Begged Olamide For Two Years To Sign Me – Asake

Nigerian singer, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has opened up about his journey to joining YBNL Nation. He revealed that he pleaded with rapper and YBNL Nation CEO, Olamide, for approximately two years before securing a deal with the record label.

Asake shared his experience during an interview with Hip TV, recounting the moment when Olamide invited him to his house and offered him the opportunity to join YBNL. Despite Olamide advising him to consult a lawyer and carefully review the contract, Asake, overwhelmed with excitement, signed immediately.

In his words, “Before he [Olamide] signed me, I had been begging Baddo [Olamide] since 2020 to sign me. One day, I got to his house, then he asked me… This part burst my head. This is how he signed me. He said, ‘How are you, Asake?’ I said ‘I’m fine.’ And he asked me, ‘Would you like to join YBNL?’”

Despite the suggestion to seek legal advice, Asake, deeply enamored with the YBNL family, expressed his eagerness to join immediately.

Asake officially signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022, coinciding with the release of his debut extended play, ‘Ololade,’ featuring the breakout song ‘Omo Ope’ with Olamide, and the single ‘Sungba’.
