Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
MAJORITY LEADER Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has indicated he is not the owner of Kumasi-based radio station, Sompa FM, as has been rumoured.
Speaking in an interview recently with Omanhene Adu Boakye, the station’s morning show host, Mr. Kyei-Mensa-Bonsu, who is the Member of Parliament for Suame, stated, “Today is my first visit to your studios, as it has been speculated all over that I owned this media firm, as you rightly said, it is just a coincidence because I have been enstooled as the Sompahene and the station also bears the name “Sompa”, so people perceived the thought that it is mine, I have no idea of whom the station owner is. I only know you as the host of the morning show and nothing else,” he cleared his name.
For some time now, the Majority Leader has been rumoured to be the owner of Sompa FM, Sompa TV and Sompa Online in Kumasi and Sunyani.
He also stated he did not own Teraone Media, which operates Sompa TV, Sompa 93.1 FM in Kumasi, Sompaonline.com and Sompa 98.9 FM in Sunyani.
Management of the station has asked the general public to disregard the allegations connecting the ownership of the station to Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu because the station is sited at Suame.
Managing Director of Teraone Media, Collins Amo Poku, has urged the public to focus on the good programmes being carried by the station since those are helping to shape national discourse and promoting socio-economic development.
He said in due course, the owner of the station will be revealed.
