I Invested Over GH¢3m In ‘Beyond Kontrol’ Concert – Medikal

Ghanaian rap artiste, Medikal, has revealed that over GH¢3 million was invested in the ‘Beyond Kontrol’ concert staged on December 13, 2025 at the Accra Sports Stadium, which witnessed over thousands of fans in attendance.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Medikal indicated that as a solo artiste who is not signed to any record label, this level of investment into his craft in the year under review deserves the ultimate Artiste of the Year title.

“After putting in so much work, releasing many songs, dropping an album, and doing a show single-handedly at the Accra Sports Stadium with about GH¢3 million, that’s why I’m loud about the TGMA this year,” he disclosed.

He also suggested that he has played a significant role in the success of several musicians, saying, “Sometimes you need to fail to win. When l said in an interview that over the years l have supported creatives in the music space, many were downplaying the statement l made. If you are a young upcoming artiste and you contact me for a verse, I do it for free.”

The high-energy event featured performances from artistes like Keche and Reggie Rockstone, strengthening Medikal’s position as a top Ghanaian artiste and earning industry recognition.

Medikal has been nominated for the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), marking a significant, highly-contested spot for the rapper.

He has explicitly warned organisers to ensure fairness in the voting and selection process, using the phrase “No libilibi, no labalaba,” indicating he will not tolerate a biased result. The rapper has received support for his efforts, with figures like Bisa Kdei noting his consistency, though he faces strong competition from nominees like Black Sherif and Stonebwoy.
