Jeff Konadu
JEFF Konadu Addo, an aspiring Eastern Regional secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to work hard to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2020 election.
He promised to work in tandem with all constituency executives to neutralize any threat posed by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region.
Mr. Konadu, a former NPP parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South, gave the assurance when he met with all NPP constituency executives in the Kwahu area to explain his campaign plans to them.
He said the NPP performed creditably in the region during the 2016 general election but believed there was room for improvement and promised to help position the regional secretariat to manage the campaign better.
He said the party stands to benefit if it makes good use of the energy and expertise of the youth for both party and national development adding that he will use his experience in IT to ensure the party employs it effectively in its campaign programmes.
Mr. Konadu indicated that he will lead the NPP to capture all the constituencies that the NPP failed to win in the last election and consolidate the ones in their possession.
He announced that he has the ability to lobby for funding and support for programs in the constituencies in the region and added that he will adopt strategies to empower the constituencies to sustain themselves financially.
In 2008 when he first returned to Ghana from Norway, Mr. Konadu attempted to contest the parliamentary primaries in Afram Plains but pulled out and supported the then candidate in the 2008 elections.
In 2012 when no candidate was willing to contest the Afram Plains South seat, he successfully pulled hitherto the highest ever votes the NPP had ever had in Afram Plains South which had always been an NDC stronghold but in 2015, he contested the primaries and lost.
Jeff Konadu, as a Regional Campaign team member for the 2016 elections, imported a full container of motorbikes (200 motorbikes) and distributed them to constituencies across the country.
On their part, the constituency executives praised Mr. Konadu’s ‘long-standing commitment and sacrifice’ for the NPP and promised not to let him down.
