John Boadu
Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has promised to support young entrepreneurs in the party to grow and sustain their businesses.
The move, according to Mr Boadu, is consistent with the NPP’s capitalist philosophy.
Mr. Boadu made the promise during his recent tour of the Western Region ahead of the National Delegates’ Conference slated for July 7, 2018.
His tour of the Western Region ended on June 17.
So far he has visited eight regions in his bid to become the substantive General Secretary of the NPP.
The acting General Secretary, who doubles as the National Organizer of the party, has travelled to 235 constituencies across the eight regions where he held discussions with constituency executives on his vision for the party ahead of the 2020 elections and beyond.
He assessed the impact of the government’s policies in the 275 constituencies of the country.
Mr. Boadu also evaluated relations between government appointees, especially Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and members of the party at the grassroots level.
During the tour, the acting General Secretary commended the party’s members for working hard to help the party to capture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016.
“Whether or not the party remains in power for a long time depends to a large extent on how grassroots member are treated, particularly in the area of empowerment,” he added.
Mr. Boadu was overwhelmingly endorsed by the party’s delegates in the constituencies.
Delegates in the Western Region also promised to vote for Mr. Boadu to champion his cause.
He was received by Western Regional Organizer of the NPP, Abdul Ganiu Mohammed, Regional Secretary, Charles Bissiw, among others.
Meanwhile, Mr. Boadu is expected to round up his nationwide tour in the Eastern Region next week after touring Volta Region.
