Keche Urges Awards Organisers To Recognise Their Hard Work

Hiplife music group, Keche, has charged the board of directors of both Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and 3Music Awards to recognise their musical effort under the 2020 year review.

According to the duo, since their musical breakthrough in 2008, both VGMA and 3Music Awards have never acknowledged them, saying, this is discriminatory and unhealthy to our entertainment industry.

According to the group, no music group in Ghana was very vibrant than Keche under the year in review and that they were extremely hopeful and confident of winning the ‘Best Group of the Year’ category.

Undoubtedly hitmakers since 2008, they have released about 30 “monster” hit songs. In 2020, they released the nationwide hit song ‘No Dulling’ which featured reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year and Lynx Entertainment’s biggest artiste, Kuami Eugene.

Currently, Keche under the management of GEM Media has the topmost banging song of the moment; ‘Good Mood’ which features Fameye.

Keche has been nominated in six categories in this year’s edition of the 3Music Awards. These categories include Viral Song of the Year, Afro Beat/Pop Song of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year, and Group of the Year.

Keche is competing in the Group of the Year category with Dope Nation, Yaw Sarpong and the Asomafo Band, The Santrofi Band, R2bees, FRA, and the Bethel Revival Choir, but the group is very optimistic that they will go home with the said category and even more.

The hiplife music group is made up of Joshua Kojo Amoah and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe. The group became very active in the year 2004 and 2005, and had recorded countless “demos” and mixtapes in studios like One blaze and Dons mic, all in the Tema Metropolis.

Their recording quest drove them to the shores of the Highly Spiritual studio owned by legendary sound engineer Kaywa.
