KIA Truck Kills Woman

The deceased wrapped in her cloth

An elderly woman, Mame Dede, believed to be in her 70’s, was killed at Agomanya, near Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern Region, when she was knocked down by a Kia truck as she was crossing the road at a spot called Roman junction.

According to reports, the driver, who fear that he would be lynched by the people around, reportedly drove to the Odumase Krobo police station, where he reported the accident.

This paper learnt that the deceased was on her way to a Christian Mothers’ meeting at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Agomanya together with two others when she was knocked down.

“While Madam Dede’s other two companions managed to cross to the other side of the road, the old woman decided to retreat in the middle of the road when the accident occurred,” an eyewitness asserted.

Her body has since been deposited at the St. Martin De Porres Hospital at Agomanya pending autopsy.
