Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has lauded the club’s faithful for rallying behind the team.

To him, the team success story is linked to the supporters graduating from fans to regular contributors.

The elated CEO mentioned at its 26th coronation in Kumasi on Sunday that the Porcupine Warriors can reach greater heights if the fans become contributors, and regular ones as such.

As a result, he has urged them to contribute regularly to the club, saying, “I thank all, especially the Asantehene, for giving me the opportunity to serve this great Club.

“Of course, we wouldn’t have achieved what we have without the main characters – the fans. You have been awesome, but we want you to graduate from just been fans to contributors and regular ones. With that, we can achieve much. Continue to support us and together, we can do so much.”

Kotoko posted a 3-0 win over Elmina Sharks to make their joy complete in Kumasi on Sunday.

The well-organised event saw Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku and other top officials handing Kotoko their record 26th league crown and medals.

The club’s legends, including Malik Jabir, Abukari, Opoku Nti, Asare Boateng, Joe Debrah, Joe Okyere, Eric Bekoe, Nii Adjei among others were present to grace the momentous occasion.

Great musical performances from legendary Pat Thomas, Kwami Eugene and Hisense-sponsored Dancegod and the DWP dancers sent the fans into a frenzy.
