Kozie Gives Interest-Free Loans To Women

Kozie with the market women

The Parliamentary Candidate for the Adentan Constituency, Akosua Asaa Manu (Kozie), has demonstrated her commitment to the welfare of market women in the area by generously providing interest-free loans to numerous women at the Adentan market.

The financial package is intended to enhance the trading activities of the beneficiaries and to improve their livelihoods.

The event, supported by Madam Vivian Bosompem (Adwoa Court), the Constituency Women Organiser, witnessed Kozie interacting with the market women, understanding their challenges, and offering guidance and encouragement.

This initiative, constituting an initial seed fund of GH¢50,000, will be disbursed among 25 market women, each receiving GH¢2,000.

The gesture has been descried as a testament to Kozie’s dedication to the empowerment of women and her resolve to foster economic growth in the Adentan Constituency.

By providing access to capital, she is enabling these hardworking women to expand their businesses, increase their income, and contribute to the well-being of their families and the community, it has been observed.

To sweeten the deal even further, aside from the initial 25 women beneficiaries of the GH¢50,000 seed fund, five additional women will benefit from a GH¢10,000 facility every month in order to escalate the initiative and reach more market women. Kozie’s gesture has been widely appreciated by the market women, who expressed their gratitude for her support and leadership.

This event has further strengthened her connection with the constituents, providing effective leadership and demonstrating her willingness to listen and act on their needs.

Some of the market women expressed their appreciation to Kozie and plan to reward her with their votes in the upcoming general election on December 7, 2024.

According to them, despite taking large sums of money to buy foodstuffs and goods, they end up with very little. The GH¢50,000 interest-free loan provided by Kozie is seen as a significant step towards improving their financial situation.

In conversations with journalists, several of the women highlighted the hikes in transport fares as the biggest challenge for their businesses. The high cost of transporting foodstuffs from the villages to Accra has made goods more expensive. They believe that the interest-free loan will help mitigate these issues.

Madam Afia, a market woman, who expressed heartfelt appreciation for the support, emphasised that market women are the pillars of their families, with many being the primary breadwinners. Therefore, the interest-free loan will be of immense value to them, greatly improving their financial stability and enabling them to better support their families.

The market women praised Akosua Manu for her commitment to their businesses and for prioritising their needs. They are hopeful that her support will bring significant improvements to their financial stability and business operations.
