Lionel Messi
IT WAS a night of humiliation for Liverpool at Camp Nou in Spain as they played their UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg.
The English Premier League Club went down 3-0 to Spanish La Liga winner, Barcelona on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
Barcelona’s striker, Luise Suarez opened the score line on the 26th minute of the first half against Liverpool, his former club.
Liverpool put up impressive performance in the last minutes of the first half and few minutes into the second department of the match but could not find the back of the net.
Lionel Messi doubled the score for Barcelona on 76th minute after Suarez was denied by the crossbar in getting his second goal on the night.
Mess’s second goal came through a superb free-kick on the 82nd minute.
The Camp Nou’s result means Liverpool has very little chance of playing in this season’s Champions League final.
The English side lost to Real Madrid in last season’s final.
