Many attended the installation ceremony of the new Archbishop of the Yendi Diocese of the Catholic Church over the weekend.
The MP for the Yendi constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama, was one of the dignitaries who attended the activities marking the installation of Reverend Father Matthew Yitiereh.
Twitting later, the MP pointed out how he urged the Catholic Church to continue to pray for more grace and tranquility in the country for the good people of Yendi and the country at large.
“I drove a point that Christians and Muslims are one and must continue to coexist for development to thrive,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to the Catholic Church for the reception they accorded him when he graced the function.
The appointment of the new Archbishop was announced on Friday, June 3, 2022 in the Vatican, Rome, and at the National Catholic Secretariat.
