CHIEF EXECUTIVE Officer of Micro Credit and Small Loans Center (MASLOC), Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zackariah, says her outfit is automating all its operations to create a paperless loan application, loan repayment and efficient recovery system.
She said this exercise would help the centre become fully digitalised and ease the burden of debt collection.
“The days of debt collectors moving from shops to shops to demand their monies will soon be a thing of the past,” she disclosed this at a two-day training session for its workforce at the Accra Digital Center in Accra.
Ms. Shanni Mahama said in an age of technological advancement and with institutions migrating to advanced secure digital platforms, the new Loan Management Software (LMS) training will not only equip and improve service delivery to clients through a secure database, “but will also complement our efforts to promote all categories of our customers to patronise our services through simple and personalised solutions such as mobile applications, USSD short codes.”
She, however, said, the goal is to equip key users to use the software while they coordinate the full implementation of the system to the benefit our customers.
“The complete implementation of the different phases of the software will allow MASLOC eliminate its manual processes and align its system on an improved platform, compatible to new and complex modern banking systems used globally,” she stated.
She stated that the training is for participants from the credit, IT, finance and audit departments as well as sector managers, regional and district credit managers, credit officers as well as regional accountants.
Ms. Shanni Mahama stated that the training follows the announcement of support from the African Development Bank (AfDB) through the Ministry of Finance to boost MASLOC’s determination to establish a strong digital infrastructure to support its operations.
