A project dubbed ‘Trash In Bin Campaign’, spearheaded by Miss Earth Ghana 2016 Deborah Eyram Dodor, will on Friday, April 21 be launched at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.
A number of Miss Earth beauty queens from various countries are expected in Accra to assist with the launch and other follow-up engagements that would include visits to various personalities and promoting the use of trash bins.
These include Miss Earth 2013, Miss Earth 2014, Miss Earth Air 2016, Miss Earth Lebanon, Miss Earth England, Miss Earth Guam, Miss Earth Suriname, Miss Earth India, Miss Philippines, Miss Earth Zambia, Miss Nigeria, Miss Earth Bahamas, Miss Earth, Miss Earth Kenya, Miss Earth Namibia and Miss Earth Mexico.
Programmes lined up are meetings with the ministers of Environment, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Local Government, Lands and Natural Resources, visits to various embassies in Accra, charity events with ‘kayayei’ and a tour to the Elmina Castle and other places of interest.
Others are a tree planting exercise at Kyebi with the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amotia Ofori Panin, a ‘trash in bin’ campaign / durbar in Ho and a boat ride to Subhi Accad Island, which is located in Ada, Greater Accra Region.
A student of All Nations University, Deborah won the Miss Earth Ghana competition 2016 which was organised in August by First Royale Events at the Airport View Hotel in Accra.
