MTN, Ghana’s leading telecommunication network through its Foundation has donated 10 laptop computers and 2 interactive boards to the Eastern Regional Hospital.
The move is aimed at revolutionizing teaching and learning for physicians at the hospital.
It will further enhance the hospital’s specialization training programs in surgery and physician specialties, offered by the Ghana College of Physicians.
The Eastern Regional Hospital, recently elevated to a higher level within the medical field, will greatly benefit from this digital upgrade.
Physicians undergoing specialization training will utilize the equipment for real-time learning and interaction with lecturers across the country, reducing transportation needs.
The donation of the digital equipment aligns with MTN’s mission to provide the benefits of a modern connected life.
According to Robert Kuzoe, Senior Manager at MTN Ghana Foundation, this donation demonstrates the organization’s commitment to quality healthcare through technology.
“We believe everybody deserves the benefit of a modern connected life, and this is our contribution to society,” he stated.
Mary Kwatiah, Chief Administrator of the Eastern Regional Hospital, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting its impact on patient care.
She noted that the hospital has transitioned to electronic folders, utilizing computers in all departments, making the laptops a valuable addition.
She maintained that the Eastern Regional Hospital’s specialization training programs will now be more effective, thanks to MTN Ghana Foundation’s generosity.
This donation is part of MTN Ghana Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support healthcare institutions.
Previously, the foundation donated to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra and other hospitals.
