President Akufo-Addo with Parliamentary leadership, Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and Executive Secretary, Nana Bediatuo Asante
President Akufo-Addo yesterday met with the leadership of Parliament made up of both the Majority and Minority caucuses at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The meeting reportedly focused on “issues of national concern” and was held in a cordial and frank manner.
It was attended by Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin (Majority Leader), Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson (Minority Leader), Patricia Appiagyei (Deputy Majority Leader), Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (Deputy Minority Leader), Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Majority Chief Whip), Habib Iddrisu (First Deputy Majority Whip), and Alex Tetteh Djornobuah (Second Deputy Majority Whip).
The rest are Kwame Governs Agbodza (Minority Chief Whip), Ibrahim Ahmed (First Deputy Minority Whip), and Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe (Second Deputy Minority Whip).
According to a statement from Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the meeting lasted an hour and was friendly and candid, focusing on national matters.
The Minority Leadership thanked the President for the invitation and reaffirmed their commitment to working constructively with the government on national issues.
“At the invitation of the President, the leadership of Parliament, made up of both caucuses, on Monday met with President Akufo-Addo at the presidency.
“The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, was cordial and frank. It discussed issues of national concern. The leadership of the Minority takes the opportunity to thank the President for the invitation,” the statement stressed.
