The students in a pose with their host A.R. Gomda after the visit
Forty-two students of the Al Waleed Comprehensive Basic School and the Islamic Training Institute yesterday visited the Daily Guide, Guide Radio and TV to acquaint themselves with production procedures.
The excursion was organised by the Dakuciki Media Team under the auspices of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alhaji Abubakar Garba Osuman.
The students were taken round the various segments of the integrated media house and had the opportunity to pose questions in the areas of television, radio and newspaper production.
The excitement of the visitors was visible in the questions they asked after each presentation.
Alhaji Garba said the excursion was facilitated to educate Zongo students about how the media operates and the careers some of them could take up in the future.
“We intend to cover other areas such as electricity generation and distribution among others. This way, Zongo students would be encouraged to be more serious with their academic work,” he disclosed.
Supporting the Dakuciki was Onukpa Futa, a man who is passionate about the development of the larger Zongo community in Accra in particular, and the country at large.
The students were led by their teachers, Hajia Ayishetu Adamu and Luscious Torto.
