NPP Inaugurates Ayawaso Central Youth Wing

Henry Quartey addressing the gathering

THE ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has inaugurated the youth wing of the Ayawaso Central Constituency of the party.

Held at Atta Nii’s Place in Kokomlemle, Accra on Sunday, November 17, the ceremony had in attendance some executives and bigwigs of the party who took turns to commend the Ayawaso Central arm of the party for their hard work over the years and urged them to put in their best to ensure that President Akufo-Addo retains power in the 2020 general elections.

Youth Wing

In his address, the NPP Ayawaso Central Youth Organizer, Stephen Mensah, popularly known as Paa, expressed gratitude to the national executives of the party for the support his team has enjoyed over the years.

Mr. Mensah iterated that following the landslide victory of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso Central, Henry Quartey,  in the 2016 elections where he beat his opponent with over 6,000 votes, his team had resolved to help strengthen the victory of the party with a greater margin by a 10,000-vote difference in the 2020 elections.

This, he disclosed, would be achieved by targeting all youths, particularly fresh voters in the constituency in order to win them over so to increase the electoral fortunes of the party at next year’s polls.

He also added that since taking up the mantle of leadership in 2017, the numbers had increased more than 100 per cent.

Achieving Operation 10,000 Difference.

The MP for Ayawaso Central Constituency, Henry Quartey in advising the youth wing on how to achieve operation 10,000, tasked all polling station executives to do what he called the  “9 + 1” project.

Under this project, each polling executive as well as executive member of the youth arm in the constituency only has to ensure he or she speaks to and wins over at least nine persons to the party.

This, he noted, was good foundation for the party to achieve its set goal of operation 10,000 votes.

Dignitaries

The ceremony was characterized by pomp and jamboree as hundreds of party faithful turned out in their numbers.

In attendance were Sammi Awuku, National Organizer; Nana B, National Youth Organizer who also formally inaugurated the youth wing; Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central; Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, Deputy Minister for Transport, Patrick Boamah, MP for Okaikwei Central Constituency and Moses Abor, Regional Organizer of the NPP.
