PSGH, LAPAG Endorse Reappointment Of KNUST Vice-Chancellor

 

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) and the Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG) have expressed their strong support for the renewal of Pharm. Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

In a joint statement, signed by Pharm. Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh, PSGH President, the leadership of PSGH and LAPAG commended the University Council for its decision to extend Pharm. Prof. (Mrs.) Dickson’s tenure, which is set to continue from June 24, 2024.

They noted that the Council’s decision reflects a thorough evaluation of her performance over the past four years.

Under Pharm. Prof. (Mrs.) Dickson’s leadership, KNUST has experienced significant infrastructure development and the implementation of effective academic policies that have enhanced the university’s global reputation. Notably, KNUST was recognized as the best university in the world for providing quality education (SDG 4) in the 2023 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

“Her exceptional competence in managing this prestigious institution warrants the extension of her tenure,” stated the organizations in their announcement.

PSGH and LAPAG expressed pride in Pharm. Prof. (Mrs.) Dickson’s achievements and pledged their support for her leadership over the next two years. They also called on all stakeholders to back the University Council’s decision to renew her appointment.
