Robbers Shoot Cop In The Eye

A policeman has reportedly been shot in the eye by a group of trigger-happy armed robbers.

Corporal Bernard Kyei was attacked by the criminals whilst on duty with his colleagues.

The suspected armed robbers suddenly appeared at a security checkpoint at Aframso, near Ejura in the Ashanti Region and opened fire on the policemen on Sunday evening.

Bullets unfortunately hit the eye of Corporal Kyei and some parts of his body.

According to reports, the suspects escaped through the bush after committing the heinous crime.

Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that Corporal Kyei is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, another police officer, ASP Dennis Boateng, the Asiwa District Police Commander, is also in critical condition.

The police officer was said to have been shot in the neck by some suspects.

ASP Boateng was leading about four police personnel to arrest some criminals who recently butchered a certain man in the area when the incident occurred.

But the hoodlums laid ambush and shot ASP Boateng on Sunday dawn.

The other police policemen were treated and discharged by the doctors.

ASP Boateng, who sustained severe injuries, is currently on admission at the Komfo Anokte Teaching Hospital (KATH).

In a related development, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Mensah Duku, said the two injured policemen were responding to treatment at the hospital, praying that they would leave the hospital very soon.

DCOP Mensah Duku disclosed that three people had been arrested in connection with the shooting of ASP Boateng at Asiwa.

According to him, the police managed to arrest one of the suspects while the community apprehended two others.

He described the incidents as isolated, saying in general security is very tight in the region presently.
