Two times Grammy-nominated music icon, Rocky Dawuni performed over an hour on Saturday night to thrill several music fans who graced his Grammy nomination celebration concert at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra.
It was a beautiful atmosphere as Rocky performed some of his greatest songs, both old and new to the excitement and admiration of all who attended the concert.
The Afro-roots star is among some world musicians who were nominated for the 64th edition of the Grammy awards in the USA.
The Grammys remains the pinnacle of all music awards in the world and Rocky got nominated for the award ceremony twice.
He got nominated in the Best Global Music Album category with his “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1” EP for the 2022 ceremony and he is competing with works of other international acts like Daniel Ho & Friends, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Wizkid.
The nomination follows in the similar success of his sixth studio album titled Branches of The Same Tree which was nominated for Grammy Best Reggae Album in December 2015 for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
Saturday concert was to celebrate his achievement so far at the Grammy. Award-winning songstress Yasmeen Helwani opened the show for Rocky before one of the masters of ceremony, Abeiku Santana introduced him to the stage.
He performed most of his songs on his “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1” EP. It was even more amazing when he performed the song, “In Ghana”. The audience beautifully sang and dance along.
He also took the opportunity to thank the audiences and Ghanaians in general for their support.
The concert was attended by some showbiz personalities including KOD, Abeiku Santana and Yvonne Nelson.
