Sefwi Akontombra Gets New District Hospital

The new health facility and ambulance 

 

Vemed Health Project Ghana Limited, the construction firm working on the new Sefwi Akontombra District Government hospital in the Western North Region, has completed the project.

The contractor has subsequently handed over the new health facility to the Western North Regional Health Directorate.

It is a 40-bed capacity facility and has an administration block, a theatre block and a mortuary which can accommodate five bodies at a time among other facilities.

A brand new pickup, an ambulance and four motor bikes were also presented to the Regional Health Directorate.

Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu in a remarks read on his behalf explained that the project was part of the government’s efforts aimed at bringing quality health care to the door steps of the people.

Western North Regional Deputy Director of Health, Dr. Kingsley Osei Kwakye, thanked the government for the various initiatives in the area aimed at improving health care delivery.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Akontombra, Alex Tetteh also praised the Akufo-Addo-led government for what he described as ‘unprecedented development projects’ in the area since the assumption of office.

He appealed to the staff and workers of the facility to work diligently so that residents in the area will benefit from the hospital and for it to achieve its purpose.

The Chief of Sefwi Akontombra, Nana Kwabena Ebi was also grateful to the government for providing the people with the well-equipped hospital.

He promised to provide accommodation for the health workers until the government is able to provide them with an accommodation facility.

The District Chief Executive for Sefwi Akontombra, Yawson Amoah thanked the residents in the area for their support to the government which has ensured the successful completion of the hospital project.
