Shatta Wale, Burna Boy
Shatta Wale has called out his onetime best friend and Nigerian music star Burna Boy over claims that he betrayed their friendship.
The Grammy-nominated artiste was in Ghana to spend his holidays during the festive season but ignored Shatta Wale. The Shatta Movement boss himself made attempts to reach out to his friend, but that also proved futile. His calls were never returned and text messages left without response.
In a live video on Instagram, over the weekend, the controversial Ghanaian Dancehall king said apparently Burna Boy had issues with him but was not bold enough to confront him about it.
According to him, information available to him indicated that Burna Boy was peeved over an interview he granted sometime back where he had mentioned that Burna Boy lived in his home during one of his earlier getaways in Ghana.
He said he was also surprised because Burna Boy called him to register his displeasure due to their friendship.
When you came [to Ghana] there was some kind of hustle in you. I saw it. We ate chips and did things together. So if you have a problem you have to call me and tell me about it.
“Don’t go around talking bad about me,” he cautioned.
Shatta Wale defended himself indicating that every comment about Burna Boy in the said interview was made out of love without any malice intended. He added he was asked a question and he didn’t speak in a bad manner. Burna Boy is however yet to respond to Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale and Burna Boy became very good friends after they collaborated on the 2017 hit song Hosanna. They have since remained good friends until their latest brouhaha.
