Diego Simeone with Thomas Partey (L)
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has wished his former trainee, Thomas Partey, well in his current endeavour.
The midfielder’s move on transfer deadline date was characterized by some ‘hitches’ which nearly marred the life changing move of the player.
But the Argentine trainer has said there is no animosity between his charge and himself.
And confirming this openheartedly, he has wished the Black Stars midfielder well in his EPL trade.
He said in an interview, “Everything good that happens to Thomas will make me happy.”
Simeone added, “He is a boy who has grown up with us, who has made this decision and I hope it goes well.”
The Black Stars deputy captain, 27, joined Arsenal on the transfer deadline day this summer in a mouthwatering deal worth £45 million.
Last weekend, Partey debuted for the Gunners from the bench in their 0 – 1 loss to Manchester City at the Ethihad Stadium.
He is expected to start against Rapid Wien in the Europa League tomorrow. The match will be behind closed doors at Allianz Stadion in Vienna.
