EZE CHUKWUDI Jude Ihenetu, the self-styled Igbo King in Ghana led a huge entourage to observe the final funeral rites of Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III at Manhyia Palace but was ignored.

Eze Chukwudi, clad in his traditional apparel and displaying a walking stick and black shades, suffered humiliation as he was denied access to pay obeisance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He was blocked by Otumfuo’s linguist, Baffour Osei Kwame Kantankrankyi when he attempted to greet the King like others had done.

Excerpts from the video, which has since gone viral on social media, has received various reactions, with many applauding the linguist for blocking the self-styled leader from exchanging pleasantries with the Asantehene.

Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu has been surrounded by controversy, particularly regarding his claims and actions as a traditional leader for the Igbo people in Ghana. The situation has sparked heated debates on social media, with some questioning the legitimacy of Eze Ihenetu’s title and actions in Ghana.

It would be recalled that a viral video captured him stating that he planned to establish an “Igbo village” on 50 acres of land in Old Ningo. He later denied acquiring land for such purposes, stating that his plans had been abandoned due to disputes.

Eze Ihenetu also asserted that he is not seeking Ghanaian kingship, land, or cultural dominance, but only aims to preserve Igbo culture and language.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, summoned Eze Ihenetu in the heat of the controversies, cautioning him to respect Ghanaian laws and customs.
