The pastors with senior clergy at the ceremony
As the nation prepares for the 2024 elections, Team Pastor of Trinity Praise Christian Center, Bishop Dr. David Owusu Tachie ESQ, has advised pastors against declaring election results.
According to him, the pulpit must be neutral and must preach the salvation message, but not to prophesy about election results and the death of people.
He explained that, prophecy and revelations are both good, however, they should be done with integrity and honesty.
Bishop Dr. Tachie ESQ said this during the Commissioning, Ordination and Ecclesiastical ceremony held at the Trinity Praise Christian Center, Nungua branch in Accra.
The ceremony was to prepare pastors to continue with the Great Commission.
He said pastors were called to save people and reconcile people onto God but not to drive people from God, so pastors, prophets and religious leaders should stay neutral as far as politics is concerned.
He mentioned that, at the end, everyone will vote, so the citizenry should exercise their constitutional mandate.
He advised political parties to embrace the values of peace and the values of security to create a good and serene Ghana, while advising the citizenry to participate in sustaining peace and stability.
He stated that, the graduates received training ranging from the Bible to strategic management of entities as well as organisational behaviour in order to make them holistic.
“Do not go out there and go and buy anointing oil at GH¢5 and come and say it is a prophetic breakthrough and collect GH¢5,000. That is defrauding by false pretenses,” he advised
For his part, Very Rev Lt Col RD Mintah, Resident Minister of Trinity Praise Christian Center, advised Ghanaians to go through a peaceful election period and tolerate each other in order not to create violence because it’s only one Ghana we have.
