Rocky Dawuni
Ghanaian reggae music icon, Rocky Dawuni, has said for Ghanaian artistes to achieve world recognition they must avoid competition among themselves.
According to him, competition and fighting among themselves couldn’t give them the world attention they seek.
Rocky, who has been nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards in the Best Global Music Performance category, made this known while speaking on Akoma FM, on Saturday.
“We have managed to push our industry to a great level which used to be years back. Different artistes are doing different things, which has brought variety into the industry.
“What we need to do now is to come together as a unit and work and support each other. See ourselves as one and work collectively. It is the only way we are enlisted among the great in the world. It can’t be possible if we pitch one artiste against the other,” he added.
Rocky is a Ghanaian reggae icon of international repute. He has had three Grammy nominations, and hopes are that he will win the 2023 nomination.
