Three institutions from various parts of the country have taken stock of assorted items from The Rebecca Foundation, headed by First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

The items, including 30 bags of rice, three boxes of canned tomatoes, gallons of cooking oil, cartons of frozen meat, soya milk drinks and five boxes of shoes for schoolchildren were to support the institutions who provide care for the marginalised in the society.

The beneficiary institutions include SOS Asiakwa, Kyebi School for the Deaf in the Abuakwa South Constituency, all in the Eastern Region, and the Mother Care Orphanage in the Gomoa Central Constituency of the Central Region.

At a short presentation ceremony at the Office of the First Lady in Accra, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said the items were donated to “assist those who take care of needy and marginalised children.”

She urged management of the institutions to continue with their good works and urged them to ensure the children are the ultimate beneficiaries of the donation.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Kyebi School of the Deaf and SOS Asiakwa, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akim Abuakwa South and Minister for Works & Housing, Samuel Ataa Akyea, commended The Rebecca Foundation for supporting the needy in the society.

He prayed for more resources for The Rebecca Foundation to enable it to give more to the needy, especially children, in the society.

Madam Naana Eyiah, MP for Gomoa Central, and Madam Joyce Obeng, founder and director of Mother Care Orphanage, who received the donation, thanked Mrs. Akufo-Addo for assisting the orphanage.
