The Madina Police have apprehended three suspected armed robbers for allegedly attacking a household and robbing occupants of their valuables.
The suspects are Joseph Avorga, 19; Richard Larbi, 24; and Stanley Ativi, 24 years.
They made away with valuables including cash over GH¢10,000, 1 iPhone, 1 camera, wrist watches, 7 pen drives, 1 vodafone modem, 1 zyro mobile phone, 1 HTC mobile phone, among other valuable items.
Briefing the media, the Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, George Alex Mensah said on June 29, 2018, the police had information that a house at Madina had been attacked by armed robbers.
A patrol team was dispatched to the scene but by the time the police arrived, the suspects had fled and had locked up the victims in a room.
According to the victims, the suspects who were not wearing facial masks but wielding pistols and machetes attacked them and marched them into a room to lock them up before taking the items.
DCOP Mensah said police intelligence led to the arrest of the three suspects at Madina.
Items including three laptops, some amount of cash and iphones and other phone accessories taken from the victims were recovered from suspects.
He said the suspects upon interrogation confessed to the crime as well as other robberies they had committed within the environs. They are still in police custody assisting the police in their investigations.
