Titus-Glover Supports Homowo

THE MEMBER of Parliament for Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has presented food items to the chief and people of Tema towards this year’s Homowo Festival.

The items included bags of maize, gallons of palm oil, crates of soft drinks, cartons of fish, crates of assorted alcoholic beverages, an undisclosed amount of money, among others.

Presenting the items to the Tema Traditional Council, Mr. Titus-Glover, who doubles as Deputy Minister of Transport, was grateful for the continuous support and collaboration existing between the traditional council and government.

He appealed to opinion leaders and elders to advise the youth to desist from causing confusion during the celebration, saying “let me entreat the youth to ensure that this year’s Homowo is celebrated in a peaceful atmosphere. Let us show unity and love towards one another before, during and after the occasion.”

According to him, he would ensure that the various clan houses have their fair share of the items. He tasked the authorities not to relent in their efforts to maintain peace in the community.

Mankralo of the Tema Traditional Council, Nii Adjetey Agbo, expressed appreciation to the deputy minister for his kind gesture.

He further thanked government for the infrastructural developments it is embarking on in the metropolis such as road networks. He requested streetlights for the Tema East Constituency.

The MP also presented items to representatives of the various clan houses, and called on the authorities to ensure that the people of Tema celebrated the festival peacefully.
